About the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Intensive medical-surgical services are provided in Kent Hospital’s 15-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU is under the direction of an intensivist, a physician who is board certified in the specialized care of critically ill patients. The Unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary health care team, which includes:

• A physician
• Nurse
• Physical therapist
• Respiratory therapist
• Social worker
• Nutritionist
• Pastoral care

Patients benefit from advanced technology and a personalized approach to meet the needs of each individual and their families. Due to the severity of the patient conditions on this unit, special visitation guidelines are necessary.
