MRI is a diagnostic tool that uses a combination of magnetic fields, radio waves, and computer technology to produce highly detailed pictures of the human body. No radiation is used in this type of test. Kent's Outpatient Imaging Center uses the area's most advanced high-speed, high-field technology.

MRI testing is non-invasive and painless (some exams may require an injection to improve contrast (visibility) of the image. There is no radiation associated with MRI and the new technology is much more comfortable for adults and children, especially those who may experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed space).

The technologists at the Kent Outpatient Imaging Center are registered and certified in magnetic resonance imaging and our board-certified radiologists are experienced in the interpretation of MRI studies. They will provide a full and timely report to your referring physician.
