Social Services

Kent Hospital offers social work services for cancer patients and their families. Social work intervention is based on an understanding of the patient's diagnosis and treatment plan, as well as the patient's emotional and social situation. Oncology social work services are designed to help the patients and their families feel more in control. Interventions are focused on helping people cope with medical, emotional and social problems they may encounter at different points during the cancer experience.

A comprehensive program encompassing counseling services, resource utilization and education is offered. Social workers, in conjunction with other health care professionals, play an important role in providing a positive hospital experience for the patient.
