Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency

Program Details

The Kent Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency, RRA (PMSR RRA) is a three-year program approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, accredited by the Joint Commission. We are an integral part of a teaching hospital affiliated with the Brown Alpert Medical School and Care New England Health System. 

The PMSR RRA is designed to accommodate the individual learning needs of the physician who has completed a program of study at a Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) approved college of medicine. The residency is designed in a rotational structure with rotations teaching through a hands-on approach. The Program is approved for six (6) residents – 2 PGY1; 2 PGY2; 2 PGY3.

Rotations

The Program is designed in a rotational structure. Rotations follow a 12-block format. All rotations are geared to teaching a hands-on approach.

Rotations

The residency is designed in a rotational structure. Rotations follow a 12-block format. All rotations are geared to teaching through a hands-on approach. The resident is responsible for patient care and decision making, which increases as they progress through their training. The surgical cases seen by the residents vary from simple hammertoe and bunion procedures to complex rearfoot reconstruction, ankle fractures and dislocations, and total ankle replacement surgery.
